Why an ANC?

Unlike other 8(a) companies, ANCs provide the Federal Government with a virtually unlimited sole source ceiling (per 48 CFR 6.303-1). The Federal Government may award a sole source contract to an ANC 8(a) company for up to $100M without a Justification and Approval (J&A), and more than $100M with a J&A, offering an unlimited threshold. The ceiling for a sole source contract award to other 8(a) companies is limited to $4.5M for non-manufacturing and $6.5M for manufacturing contracts.
